Story
Ptea Teuk Dong (PTD) originally began in 1994 as a Street Families Centre, supporting families who had returned to Cambodia from refugee camps in Thailand after the civil war. From these humble and challenging beginnings, PTD has grown into a structured NGO dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty and offering a brighter, self-sustained future to the youth of Battambang.
Today, Ptea Teuk Dong is a well-established, community-rooted Cambodian non-governmental organization (NGO). Officially registered with the Ministry of Interior on August 28th, 1996, PTD is fully committed to remaining a non-religious and apolitical organization.

Our vision is to be an integral part of our local community in Battambang, Cambodia – a community that is educated, healthy, and prosperous, and where disadvantaged members are protected, cared for, and empowered.

Our mission is to utilize our skills, knowledge, and both human and physical resources to work alongside our local community, partners, and donors. Together, we deliver high-quality services and support to help local people of all ages become better educated, healthier, and more prosperous.

Goals
Our goal is to ensure that PTD continuously strengthens its capacity to improve the quality of life for underprivileged communities by providing high-quality education and training for children and youth. To achieve this, we focus on:
- Educational Opportunities: Providing pathways for children to receive a comprehensive general education from kindergarten through to high school.
- Skill Development: Offering opportunities for community members to study foreign languages, computer literacy, and professional vocational skills.
- Health & Well-being: Improving the livelihoods, health, and general well-being of PTD members and the wider community.
- Environmental Protection: Contributing actively to protecting and preserving the local environment.
- Community Support: Offering direct assistance to PTD members who are experiencing hardships and are in need of support.
